About Me
My name is Taylor Degoumois, and I am the founder of Family Safe Solutions, a consultancy and support service dedicated to empowering families and keeping children safe. I am a proud Aboriginal woman with a deep commitment to helping my community and keeping families safe, strong, and together.
I have extensive experience working across child protection, out-of-home care, and family support, with a particular focus on culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches for Aboriginal children and families. My passion lies in walking alongside families to help them navigate complex systems, strengthen their parenting, and maintain meaningful connections to culture and kin.
I hold a Bachelor of Health Science – Mental Health and am a certified Family Group Conference (FGC) Facilitator and Trainer. My professional background includes:
- Conducting Kinship Carer Assessments, Parenting Capacity Assessments, Guardianship Assessments, and New Carer Assessments
- Supporting families through family time supervision and providing clear, culturally informed reports for the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and privately
- Designing and delivering educational training videos and workshops to support family safety, understanding of child protection, and cultural knowledge
Through Family Safe Solutions, I aim to provide a safe space for families to learn, grow, and make informed decisions. I believe in the strength of community, the importance of culture, and the power of keeping families together where children can thrive in safe, loving environments.
